The school life.

I have a confession.
It happens to me at the end of every summer.
I love the the thought of-
  • wearing the clothes I have been saving
  • putting clean notebooks in new backpacks
  • stuffing sandwiches in my Star Wars tin lunch box
  • tying my not-yet-worn-in new shoes
  • figuring out where all my classes are located
  • meeting up with long-lost friends

I LOVE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!!

It's fine. Call me a nerd, I can take it.  I guarantee you though in three weeks I'll be calling for summer days again.

But truth be told, I love having a routine and feeling productive and learning and being social and preparing to be a teacher.

Also, I can count on my fingers: I only have two semesters left of class which means... that this time next year I'll be setting up my very own classroom.

So far my classes have been thoroughly enjoyable although my teachers are laying on the textbook reading quite heavily (you think they would practice what they preach)...I guess I should be grateful though that I don't have this as my only literary resource:

For now, Kyle and I have been busy setting up our very own home [apartment].  It has been quite the process but it feels so nice to have a place of our own!!  We finally have the majority of our pictures/decor hung up and we are getting the rest of our furniture this weekend (a huge thanks to Mike for bringing that out).  It's been hard for me to live such an unorganized life but a little mess never hurt anyone right?  Anyways, once everything is more put together everyone and anyone is invited over! (We will even have a pull out bed if you choose to stay the night).

Also, happy birthday to one of my favorite girls.  She's finally 21 which means we are mature enough to hit the clubs (((in Provo?!))).

...maybe not.

I've also been working on becoming a better "homemaker."  Those of you who know me know that I am the furthest thing from an ideal housewife.  BUT I am trying... This weeks training includes: attempting to make banana bread, washing my husband's dirty rugby clothes, updating my blog layout, and making pancakes for Kyle while he studies.  Okay, let's be real.  My improvements are small and Kyle insists that he loves me whether or not I am this apron-dressed wife but there is just something about Kyle that makes me want to be a good wife/homemaker.

Woah...what did I just say?

Erm.

So here's to new beginnings- whether that be a new school year or becoming legal or an attempt at becoming more wife-ly.

Cheers,
<33 Amanda

  1. I'm jealous, I wish I was a full time student at BYU - I love learning. Do you know I start preparing for Education Week about two months before? Yes, I'm nerdy like that too. It's in our genes just like thyroid and shingles. LOL. And if it makes you feel better...I'm still trying to be more wife-ly. Love you lots. Keep enjoying life.
